“His heart danced upon her movements like a cork upon a tide. He heard what her eyes said to him from beneath their cowl and knew that in some dim past, whether in life or revery, he had heard their tale before.”
― James Joyce, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man
This is definitely the most abstract and 'ambient' album that I've ever made. The first track in particular is much more formless structurally than most of the music that I've made before, and hopefully this gives the music a more dreamy quality than I've been able to create in the past.
The instrumentation on this project combines the love for guitar that I explored on 'Morning' earlier this year, and the experimentation with software synths that has been a part of my music from the very beginning. To give the first track a more physical feeling, loops were recorded to cassette tape and re-recorded as they were played through a toy Fisher Price tape deck.
I hope you enjoy the album and I hope it takes on meaning for you. Thanks to everyone who's supported my music in all of it's different incarnations.
