about

Several months ago a friend asked me if I could make some music for an upcoming short film of his. The film tracks the journey of two sisters across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. What started out as a few rough tracks made with Ableton, Massive and Reaktor slowly morphed into a full album's worth of material.

I drew upon many influences throughout the making of this album. Namely Oneohtrix Point Never, William Basinski, Tim Hecker, Celer and David Tagg. Whether audibly or subconsciously these artists impacted the sounds of 'End of July'.

A big thank-you to Liam for letting me work on the project in the first place - it's been a really rewarding experience creatively. I'm very proud of how the music's turned out, and I'm glad that I've been able to work on a project with a really clear concept or theme behind it. And another thank-you to Ben Stendell who took the image on the front cover.

I really hope that the music resonates with you, and means something to you as it's taken on a lot of meaning to me over the course of making it.
